Application description

An onboard charger (OBC) is a system built into a vehicle for recharging high-voltage batteries from the AC grid during parking. The core of any electric (EV) or plug-in hybrid (HEV) vehicle lies in high-voltage (200 to 450VDC) batteries and their associated charging systems. Split type high-voltage components are widely used in OBC (in car chargers) applications and have replaced an increasing number of module based solutions due to price pressures.

Hongmei has a rich range of discrete semiconductor products, including Trench FS II technology IGBT and Super Junction TF series MOSFET, which can provide cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions to meet these challenging converter requirements.
